I confess Your word, that as a single Christian, my life is crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet it's not I that live, but it's Christ that lives in and through me; and the life which I now live in the flesh as a single Christian, I live it by faith, power and strength of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.
I pray that while I am single, may You be the One to whom I am married.
For the same reasons couples should avoid physical intimacy before the right time, they should avoid spiritual intimacy.
It can muddy the waters and lead you to see the wrong things in each other at the wrong times.
Let your spiritual intimacy from praying together grow with your relationship, not be the reason your relationship grows.
Praying together could build spiritual intimacy before you’ve had a chance to determine if this is a person you want to build that intimacy with.
But I also believe praying can play a powerful part in drawing a couple together (something they should be very careful with). When I need someone to talk to, may I also find comfort, as well as pleasure in talking to You.And as I talk to You, may You speak continually back to my heart, and may You be my daily companion who keeps me company, as You walk with me each and everyday. Is your prayer life the same in public and private? But for many Christians it can be a struggle to keep a regular private prayer time. This is a hard truth, but God is more interested in our real, authentic relationship with Him than how well we’ve learned to keep up appearances.
